THE NORM
“Environmental management systems – Requirements and guide for use”
The organization complies with these requirements in order to establish or integrate into its organizational system the rules for effective management with reference to environmental aspects. The does not in itself establish any specific environmental performance criteria.
The degree of application depends on factors such as: the organisation’s environmental policy, the nature of its activities, products and services, location and the conditions in which the organization operates.

- Protection of the environment and conscious use of resources;
- Possibility to participate in public tenders and tenders, where such certification is required;
- Improvement of the image towards interested parties for the commitment made to environmental protection;
- Reduction of management costs through the rationalization of the use of raw materials, the reduction of waste and emissions, the reduction of energy costs;
- Reduction in insurance premiums;
- Satisfaction of customer requirements (it is often necessary to demonstrate that you are UNI EN ISO 14001 certified);
- Tool for managing risk linked to the supply chain, avoiding a block of supply due to prescription by the competent authorities ( risk of environmental crime);
- The Environmental Management System can also be a useful tool if connected to the Organizational model Legislative Decree 231/ 01, highlighting that it has activated the tools to prevent any illicit behaviour.
– Integration of the ISO 14001 System with other management systems, such as for example: UNI 9001 (quality), ISO 45001 (worker health and safety), ISO 14001 (environmental management).
