ISO 9001:2015 (QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM)
THE NORM
The best known international standard, applicable to any organisation, public or private, without limits on size, type or economic sector. The ISO 9001 standard defines the minimum requirements that the Quality Management System of an organization must demonstrate to satisfy to guarantee the level of product and service quality that it claims to possess for itself and for the market.
The current edition, ISO 9001:2015, supports global and technological change and reinforces the concept of “Risk-based Thinking” orientation of risk management, moving away from the “Command and Control” paradigm.
It adapts to any type of company thanks to a more understandable language and less restrictive requirements and integrates easily with other ISO management systems as it follows the same structure – main text, terms and definitions – and shares the High Level Structure (HSL) provided by ISO Annex SL.
The ISO 9001 standard aims to encourage companies to be aware of the objectives they want to achieve by making the best use of their resources.
